Our 2nd Birthday (beware....a thankful & gushy blog!)
Wowsers - so here we are... 2 years on... and what a great couple of years it’s been!
I am thankful every day for the blessing of the Pilates method into my World. From my very first teacher and my very first training course, to numerous hours of learning and teaching and teaching and learning.... long may this journey continue. For 15 years I have always felt absolutely privileged to have a job that never feels like work and to work with people who never make me feel like I have a job to do. Just to guide & encourage people, to have more confidence in the way they move, to discover ways and methods to heal and nurture and try to make them feel better in their every day lives.
I was lucky enough, 4 years ago, (purely by chance as I nearly turned him down!) to meet a wonderful client, business partner, friend and generally amazing person in that of JB - ‘my dragon’ - Jonathan, thank you, for the coffee/chocolate/cleaning and 100,000 WhatsApp messages a day, you have guided me and believed in my every move and decision since we started on this exciting journey together. The yin to my yang or yang to my yin, it works both ways, and Mycore would not be Mycore without you - even if sometimes you only give me 70%!!!
Our staff are blooming brilliant too and I’ve always said no matter whether you are teaching in a old garden shed or a Pilates Palace the teachers are what make a studio and business .... I am grateful for our wonderful team and our local Pilates community, I have found great colleagues and friends in you all. Thanks for your support and your shared passion for all things Pilates.
A shout out too to my ever supportive family, friends & especially the two main men in my life .... my son, Oz, wants to follow in mummy’s footsteps when he grows up as teasers and handstands seem much more fun than ever getting a proper job.... and hubby, Aytan, you are my inspiration to work hard and take risks, thank you for bending over backwards so that I am literally able to bend over backwards for a living.
And finally the clients, young and old, old and new.....without you there would be no Mycore, there would be no Pilates classes... thank you for believing in the method, for showing up to your mat come rain or shine & for teaching me more than I could ever teach you. A bit like learning to drive a car, the real learning starts when you are let loose on the real road on your own .... the same applies to teaching, by watching the way different real bodies move and respond to what you say and do helps me to be a better teacher, something you can never learn in a text book.
Here’s to another 15 years, and beyond.
