I first took up Pilates on the advice of my physiotherapist after a back operation. He told me that strengthening my core would be key to improving my back —and he was absolutely right. What started as part of my recovery quickly became an essential part of my fitness routine.
Since joining Mycore four years ago, I’ve seen incredible results. Not only do I feel stronger overall, but I’ve also noticed improvements in my flexibility and posture. Mycore is tucked away in a super quiet location in central Hitchin so is really convenient, but a sense of calm awaits just moments away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Even more impressive is the kind, empathic atmosphere which seems to be a constant at Mycore.
An ultra friendly, relaxed and totally inclusive environment for group and if needed individual practice, this sense of inclusivity and friendliness seems to be reflected in the class members and general in- class vibe.
The atmosphere and level of teaching is deeply supportive and non-judgemental at all times.
Having spent over two years as a member I really feel a sense of a more holistic approach to my practice and a gradual strengthening of both body and mind class by class. I've been going to wonderful Mycore Pilates Studio for years! I attend both mat and reformer classes.
The care, warmth, and expertise, that Sarah and her team offer, not only keeps my body and spirit healthy but makes me happy. I'm in my 70s and owe my strength, flexibility, and recovery from injuries, to making pilates a part of my life. The full programme of classes, and the easy- to-use App, means I can choose times and dates to suit me each week.
I've made some lovely friends and had great fun in the sessions. I can't recommend Mycore enough.

“I am close to 84 years old. I did many years of Pilates in Scotland and when I moved here I joined another studio but eventually got bored.
What I love about Mycore is the variety of exercises that Sarah does with us. No time to get bored! The zoom classes are perfect for older folk as they don’t have to hurry out in Winter. I now do a class twice a week - Mondays and Wednesdays. By the time Monday comes around I’m feeling the need to move so I reckon they are doing me good!”
