Teacher Feature - Maiwenn

Maiwenn, what sparked your interest in Pilates?
I have explored a passion for movement through many years of dance, yoga and thai boxing. Stumbling across pilates as a way to find relief from sporting injuring and daily back pain, I was astounded by the results and started to implement one or two exercises into a daily routine. 8 years later I am still practicing and enjoying it as much as that first day!
Favourite Pilates exercise I love ANYTHING that works into the side body. It’s so important for every movement we do and in particular power and balance.
Best moment as a Pilates teacher There are so many... but they always happen when you see your clients hit that lightbulb moment especially when they are able to rehabilitate their way away from injury and into health.
What do you love about your job? The ability to connect with people and dressing like a ninja everyday!
How would your colleagues at Mycore describe you? Crazy, stupid, passionate, wild, fun.
What did you want to be when you grew up? A happy ninja
An interesting fact about you! I have driven across America. I can climb tropical forests barefoot... I am afraid of fish! 😳
Favourite places in Hitchin? All things plant based. I Love chia in hitchin... great coffee and jolly brown. I am a huge advocate for re-use recycle too and love The Wholesome Weigh.
3 things on your bucket list. Hold a handstand for more than 10 seconds, inner peace and to go on a date 🤦🏼♀ this year!
If you had a super power what would it be and why. I do have a super power! It’s called water retention! I am able to add on about 5kg extra body weight during ovulation! #toomuchinfo?
Famous person you’d like to be stuck on a desert island with Joseph Pilates.... obviously. I want to know where he got those teeny weeny pants from!
Your life motto If at first you don’t succeed... have a coffee, try again.
Thanks Maiwenn!
